ALL IN ONE PLACE | Walking distance to everything

Four distinct experiences under one roof.

Firelands coffee co.

Sustainably and intentionally roasted. The New Traditional five craft pounds at a time.

The mail room

Craft cocktails in the room that was once the city’s post office. The name is no accident.

The Stewart penthouse

8,000 square feet of private group residence in the heart of uptown Norwalk.

A display case filled with various colorful flower bouquets inside a floral shop. A sign reading 'Fresh Cut Flowers' is visible inside the case. On top of the case, there are more floral arrangements. To the left, a vintage red and silver fire alarm is mounted on the wall next to a brochure stand with a gardening book. The background includes part of a wall with a wooden plaque and a framed quote.

Always in Bloom

Beauty is always in season here. You'll find Petal Pushers by Mandy Stoll’s fresh arrangements stocked daily in our cooler, ready to grab for a table, a gift, or simply because.

Downtown Norwalk's prettiest little luxury, always within reach.

The next chapter for the Stewart Block.

The Stewart Block's newest stewards found their way to Norwalk the way its best stories always seem to, by way of a world-class kitchen and a little bit of fate.

Chef Jamie Simpson came from Charleston and the Orient Express to lead The Culinary Vegetable Institute, minutes away in Milan. Morgan Tucker, a Cornell-trained, third-generation hospitality professional who'd helped open hundreds of restaurants across the globe, arrived for a conference at the farm. They fell in love: with each other and then with the building housing 25-29 Whittlesey.

In 2018, they made it theirs.

Today, Morgan and Jamie pour a rare depth of hospitality into The Stewart Block; her operational vision, his devotion to craft and sustainability, and, more often than not, you’ll find Jamie on a ladder take care of things with his own hands. Two people who could have built anything, anywhere chose to build here in Norwalk, Ohio, and the next chapter of this 145-year-old corner is theirs to write.

Entrepreneurial Spirit Award ‘24

In 2024, the Huron County Growth Partnership honored Firelands Coffee Co. and The Mail Room for reimagining what one historic corner could be.

Firelands Coffee Co. provides small-batch coffee, roasted on-site with electric roasting. This process is nearly 90% more sustainable and uses 100% compostable packaging.

Better coffee, better for the planet.

→ Shop fresh coffee, delivered to your door

The Mail Room provides craft cocktails in the building's original post office, with an intimate 13-seat room that's yours to reserve for a private event or gathering.

Every so often, it all comes together. Coffee, craft cocktails, entertainment, and community in a single evening. Follow Sheri's Coffee House on Facebook to catch the next one and experience all three under one roof.

Gideon t. stewart

building founder

Post office, skating rink, business college. Now coffee, cocktails, and a luxury rental.

Built in 1881 by Norwalk attorney Gideon T. Stewart. Five years later the post office moved into the south room and for 46 years every letter that passed through Norwalk passed through these walls first. Electric streetcars stopped at the door from 1893 until 1938.

Home delivery in Norwalk began here in 1888. Rural free delivery followed on 23 July 1900 — and on that first morning a carrier delivered a letter postmarked in Buffalo at nine o'clock the night before. The stone threshold on the Monroe Street doorway is still worn down from generations of carriers passing through it.
